Charm Theory

charm theory /tʃɑːm ˈθɪə·ri/ · proper noun — jewelry where every charm is a kept memory. Naming, identity & packaging. [Voice swept "we"→"I" from the original — Meena to read aloud. CMS narrative says "Jo Machen"; testimonial says Jyothi Machen — confirm one spelling.]

Charm Theory brand identity and packaging

the briefElegance that survives game day

Jewelry entrepreneur Jyothi Machen approached us to create a modern, charm-based jewelry brand for college-aged students that still felt elevated and timeless. The brand was born from the love of two things — timeless style and the thrill of college sports: jewelry that moves effortlessly from game day to date night, celebrating team pride with elegance, built on ethically sourced materials.

the challengeSpirit without novelty

Three tensions to resolve: celebrating college sports culture without feeling novelty-driven; making charms — often nostalgic or juvenile — feel fashion-forward for Gen Z; and designing jewelry equally at home layered on campus, worn to the stadium, or paired with evening attire.

the identityStacked stories

The brandmark is an abstract, fluid form inspired by organic stone stacking — stories, moments, and connections building on each other, like charms in a collection. CHARM sits in an elegant serif for the timeless side; THEORY in a spaced minimal sans for the modern one. The palette is neutral beige and warm gold: jewelry's metallic warmth, working across print, digital, and packaging.

Charm Theory now stands as a versatile brand blending youthful energy with timeless elegance — every charm a piece of personal history, so customers connect emotionally while enjoying ethically crafted jewelry.

Case Mate

Client — proper noun [From the current site's narrative — voice sweep "we"→"I" pending, Meena to read aloud]

Case Mate brand identity

the brief

Case Mate is a unique platform designed to help aspiring consultants prepare for job interviews by providing affordable and localized case study materials. The business was founded by Pietra who faced challenges in accessing quality resources while preparing for consulting roles, as existing materials were either too expensive or heavily targeted towards the USA or UK markets. Case Mate aims to bridge this gap by offering accessible, practical, and regionally relevant resources. Its goal is to empower candidates to excel in their consulting interviews through high-quality preparation tools. With a focus on affordability and inclusivity, Case Mate stands out as a trusted companion for those aiming to "Prepare, Practice, and Perform."

the challenge

Lowercase letters to emphasize approachability, friendliness, and modernity..The contrast in “case and “mate” visually reinforces the brand's dual promise of strategic professionalism and an empowering, welcoming experience. It highlights individuality, as every "case" is unique, just as every "mate" is supportive and adaptive. This logo mark for CaseMate reflects its core mission of empowering aspiring consultants. The “C” shape represents "Case" while symbolizing connectivity and problem-solving, akin to piecing together a puzzle during case preparation. By placing the individual at the center of the design, the logo highlights CaseMate’s focus on user-centric support, collaboration, and personal growth. The vibrant and professional colors balance energy and trust, reinforcing the brand’s approachable yet strategic identity.

the identity

The playful illustrations reflect key emotions and actions relevant to CaseMate’s empowering journey. Subtle design elements, like dynamic gestures, enhance brand credibility by aligning with the supportive and approachable brand tone.. Flexible in use, they can stand alone, feature within borders, or form engaging patterns.

Altitude

Concept — common noun [From the current site's narrative — voice sweep "we"→"I" pending, Meena to read aloud]

Concept entry — a self-initiated exploration of the category. The brief below is imagined; the thinking is real.

Altitude brand identity

the brief

Altitude Supplements sourced premium Shilajit straight from the Himalayas — but their branding failed to reflect that power. The brand name was absent from their packaging, replaced entirely by generic "Shilajit" labeling. Their website only appealed to male gym-goers, overlooking a much wider audience. The lack of brand story, packaging consistency, and product clarity led to poor sales and a disconnect between product value and consumer trust.

the challenge

We rooted the rebrand in what made Altitude special — its Himalayan origin and the raw power of Shilajit. We positioned Altitude as a gender-neutral, active wellness brand, appealing to hikers, athletes, and everyday individuals striving for better performance and health. To break the “one-product” trap, we transformed their offering into four clear product lines, each linked to a specific benefit of Shilajit, making it easier to understand and sell.

the identity

We built a distinct brand identity inspired by Himalayan terrain and natural power. The new logo system combines altitude symbolism with energy icons, supported by a clean and elevated visual language. We introduced an earthy, premium packaging design that highlights both the brand name and the benefit of each product. We expanded the product lineup into: Energy & Vitality Booster Immune Defence Blend Joint Support Complexion Daily Essential Multivitamins Photography and campaign visuals positioned the product as a daily essential — not just for bodybuilders, but for all active individuals. Every touchpoint, from packaging to digital banners, tells a consistent story of power, purity, and performance. The rebrand gave Altitude a powerful voice and a unified identity. With purpose-built products, strategic storytelling, and packaging that finally carried their name, Altitude is now set to educate, connect, and thrive — not just as a Shilajit seller, but as a wellness brand grounded in nature and designed for modern life.

Eunbi

Concept — common noun [From the current site's narrative — voice sweep "we"→"I" pending, Meena to read aloud]

Concept entry — a self-initiated exploration of the category. The brief below is imagined; the thinking is real.

Eunbi brand identity

the brief

A beauty entrepreneur from the United States approached us to create a premium Korean skincare brand that would stand out in the saturated global skincare market. While they were inspired by K-Beauty rituals and sensorial textures, they were uncertain about the name, brand narrative, and how to visually differentiate the brand from others on the market. They had one clear requirement — the formulations would focus on floral-based ingredients and deliver a light, water-like texture that absorbs easily without any greasy residue. Our task was to develop a brand name, visual identity, and design language that reflected this floral, hydrating experience while still being rooted in the elegance and simplicity of Korean skincare culture.

the challenge

Key Challenges Naming Direction Unclear The client wasn’t sure how to find a name that felt rooted in Korean heritage yet emotionally resonant for an international audience. How to Communicate Floral Ingredients Without Being Generic Most skincare brands claim to include florals; the client wanted a more visually unique, subtle, and refined way of communicating it without relying on clichéd floral illustrations. Texture Communication The product had a silky, water-light texture—the client wanted this tactile experience to be visually felt through packaging and branding. Differentiation in a Crowded Market K-Beauty brands are everywhere, and many use flowers and water themes. The brand needed a fresh, minimal-yet-meaningful concept that wouldn’t feel derivative.

the identity

Strategic & Design Solutions

a. Naming: "Eunbi"

We named the brand Eunbi (은비)—a Korean word meaning “silver beauty”, symbolizing radiance, softness, and purity. It subtly reflects the goal of achieving glowy, healthy skin with a refined identity that feels authentically Korean yet easy to pronounce internationally. b. Brandmark: Petals × Waterdrop

To communicate the floral ingredients and hydrating texture, we crafted a custom logomark inspired by the overlap of a flower petal and a water droplet. This hybrid mark became the brand's signature symbol — soft, minimal, and fluid, much like the product experience itself. c. Typography Inspired by Skin Cells

The custom Eunbi logotype was carefully constructed to mimic the organic arrangement of skin cells, communicating the brand's mission — to care for each individual skin cell. This abstract concept brought science and beauty together subtly, elevating the brand's perceived intelligence and attention to skin health. d. Color Palette from Floral Ingredients

Instead of directly illustrating flowers, we took a refined approach — extracting a color palette from the floral ingredients themselves. Each tone on the packaging reflects a real flower (e.g., rose, lotus, camellia), offering a sophisticated nod to the product composition while maintaining an upscale, minimalist look. e. Texture Visuals through Droplets

We used water droplets across certain visual assets and mockups to reinforce the “feels like water” concept. This helped communicate the lightweight, fast-absorbing nature of the products without relying on heavy text or product claims. f. Visual Identity Rooted in Ritual

Every visual element — from logo to layout spacing — was designed to evoke a calm, sensory ritual experience, echoing K-Beauty's holistic and soothing approach to skincare.

Slay

Concept — common noun [From the current site's narrative — voice sweep "we"→"I" pending, Meena to read aloud]

Concept entry — a self-initiated exploration of the category. The brief below is imagined; the thinking is real.

Slay brand identity

the brief

At Noun, we partnered with Slay, a bold and genre-defying fashion brand, to craft a visual identity that’s unapologetic, powerful, and future-forward. Built for the streetwear tribe that thrives on fluidity, cosmic energy, and fearless individuality, Slay is more than just a brand—it’s a rebellion dressed in sculptural silhouettes and untamed self-expression. Our goal was to translate this energy into a distinct brand language—where every element becomes a symbol of movement, confidence, and the refusal to conform.

the challenge

LOGO & TYPOGRAPHY Each letter in SLAY was purposefully designed to reflect strength and defiance: S features an elongated lower curve, hinting at fluid movement and bold attitude. L flips the standard form for a rule-breaking, edgy stance. A carries an exaggerated weight, symbolizing structural confidence and inner power. Y stands wide, grounded and expansive—representing freedom and unapologetic expression. The clean sans-serif wordmark is underlined deliberately—like a baseline of power. The spacing allows each letter to breathe, suggesting clarity and control amidst fearless design choices. MASCOT – THE GLOW PANTHER We introduced the Glow Panther as Slay’s spirit animal—a sleek embodiment of stealth, grace, and controlled power. Unlike louder mascots, the panther’s quiet confidence mirrors the brand’s core: “You don’t need to roar when you move with purpose.” This mascot wasn’t just aesthetic. It became the face of a new tribe—independent, gender-fluid, resistance-minded individuals who glow on their own terms. NAMING SYSTEM & HASHTAGS To extend the brand’s language, we created “SLAZE” — a fusion of “Slay” and “Blaze.” It sounds futuristic, fierce, and instantly memorable, allowing for phrases like: Unleash SLAZE Glow in SLAZE mode #SLAZE These extensions help Slay grow beyond clothing into a cultural identity.

the identity

With Slay, our goal was never just to design a brand. It was to spark a movement. From its cosmic-inspired ethos to its sharp visual assets, Slay champions those who dare to define themselves on their own terms. At Noun, we didn’t just build a brand—we built a visual rebellion.

Prakru

Concept — common noun [From the current site's narrative — voice sweep "we"→"I" pending, Meena to read aloud]

Concept entry — a self-initiated exploration of the category. The brief below is imagined; the thinking is real.

Prakru brand identity

the brief

Prakru is a sustainable fashion label envisioned by an Indian-origin entrepreneur in California. The idea was bold — to create a brand rooted in nature that feels premium, feminine, and globally relevant. But at the time of approach, Prakru didn’t exist beyond an idea. We were brought in to build the entire brand from the ground up — from naming and strategy to visual identity and digital direction.

the challenge

We began by identifying a key opportunity: most sustainable fashion brands leaned either too earthy and raw or overly utilitarian. There was space for a minimalist, elegant, and feminine sustainable brand that speaks to modern women who care about both aesthetics and impact. We developed the name Prakru — inspired by the Sanskrit word Prakruthi (meaning nature) — to reflect the brand’s Indian roots while remaining short, memorable, and international in appeal. The brand identity system included: A bespoke logotype with subtle, leaf-like curves to express softness and sustainability. An earthy yet refined color palette using clay, sage, linen, and charcoal, reflecting the materials (hemp, bamboo, Tencel, and linen). Elegant typography and layout systems to ensure the digital presence feels clean, luxurious, and contemporary. Strategic input on packaging, social tone, and site design — all aligned with the ethos of conscious luxury.

the identity

The result is a holistic brand built with intention — where every element, from the name to the typography, tells a cohesive story of refined sustainability. With a strong foundation in place, Prakru is ready to make its mark as a premium, mindful fashion brand for women who believe in dressing with purpose.

Atlas & Adler

Concept — common noun [From the current site's narrative — voice sweep "we"→"I" pending, Meena to read aloud]

Concept entry — a self-initiated exploration of the category. The brief below is imagined; the thinking is real.

Atlas & Adler brand identity

the brief

When Atlas & Adler approached us, they weren’t looking for just another logo—they wanted a visual identity system that embodied their philosophy of modern masculinity, minimalism, and quiet confidence. The brief was bold: create a brand that felt as timeless as a tailor-made suit, but as progressive as a concept gallery in Berlin.

the challenge

We began by crafting a typographic logomark that felt structural yet elegant—a visual nod to both architectural precision and editorial refinement. The core identity leans on high-contrast serif and sans-serif type combinations, a strictly monochrome palette, and geometric layouts that echo garment tags and signage systems. From the logotype, we expanded the language into: A modular packaging system that reads like a storyboard Polaroid-style compositions that emphasize form and story Subtle tactile finishes (uncoated stock, folded edges) to bring the physical experience in line with the digital tone Narrative copy placements (“Visual Identity, Summer 2025”) designed to make each artifact feel like part of a collectible series. The brand voice became part fashion editorial, part industrial design thesis—unapologetically quiet, but deeply intentional.

the identity

The final identity system for Atlas & Adler isn’t just seen—it’s felt.

It’s in the way the packaging unfolds, the way the bag carries posture, the way the type sits on space.

Through our collaboration, we created more than a brand—we built a visual language of masculinity in its most distilled form. This is the kind of branding that doesn’t shout.

It stands still and gets noticed.

Concept entry — a self-initiated exploration of the category. The brief below is imagined; the thinking is real.

Bloomingdale brand identity

the brief

Elevating Construction Through Premium Storytelling For Bloomingdale Constructions, we developed a brand that redefines how infrastructure is perceived—bringing sophistication, clarity, and purpose to a traditionally utilitarian sector. Through strategic storytelling and a distinct visual identity, the brand now mirrors the premium quality of the spaces it creates.

the challenge

The process began with in-depth brand strategy—uncovering the core values of trust, durability, and future-forward design. This foundation led to a clean, modern identity system rooted in earthy tones and structural elegance. Typography choices reflected strength and modernism, while the color palette was inspired by natural materials like sandstone and concrete—echoing the brand’s commitment to sustainable, grounded construction. We also directed the photography style to balance raw texture with polished outcomes, creating a consistent, aspirational narrative across all brand touchpoints.

the identity

Bloomingdale’s new identity isn’t just visual—it’s experiential. By crafting a brand that feels both elevated and approachable, I helped position them as a construction partner of choice for institutions and modern homeowners alike.

This is storytelling with structure—built to last.

Kind Joinery

Concept — common noun [From the current site's narrative — voice sweep "we"→"I" pending, Meena to read aloud]

Concept entry — a self-initiated exploration of the category. The brief below is imagined; the thinking is real.

Kind Joinery brand identity

the brief

At Kind Joinery, we don’t just build furniture—we sculpt stories in wood. Every curve, joint, and silhouette is shaped with reverence for nature’s raw beauty. Inspired by the quiet strength of trees and the soft imperfections of the human hand, our work celebrates a slow, intentional approach to living. It’s not just what we make—it’s how we make you feel.

the challenge

A Legacy in Every Grain Kind was born from a longing to reconnect—to the land, to craftsmanship, and to the soul of the materials that shape our homes. Our founder grew up in a small village, helping in his grandfather’s humble grocery store, where shelves were stocked not just with food, but with stories, care, and community. That memory of slowness, of handmade, of human connection is etched into every piece we create. We partner with local artisans and sustainable woodworkers, using traditional joinery techniques that honor the past while designing for the future. Each collection is intentionally minimal, letting the organic grain and sculptural form speak for itself. The result? Furniture that feels like it’s always belonged—timeless, tactile, and rooted.

the identity

More Than Furniture—A Way of Living

Kind Joinery isn’t about trends or mass production. It's about slowing down, choosing well, and filling your space with pieces that hold meaning. Pieces that grow with you. We believe your home should reflect the same care and soul with which it’s built—and we’re here to craft it, one mindful piece at a time.

Vitalise

Concept — common noun [From the current site's narrative — voice sweep "we"→"I" pending, Meena to read aloud]

Concept entry — a self-initiated exploration of the category. The brief below is imagined; the thinking is real.

Vitalise brand identity

the brief

Vitalise is a flexible wellness platform designed for modern movers — from fitness explorers to corporate executives. The brand needed to reflect adaptability, energy, and clarity, while standing out in a saturated fitness tech market. I partnered with the Vitalise team to craft a brand strategy, visual identity, and motion system that captured its core philosophy: Your wellness, your way.

the challenge

Through strategy workshops and audience mapping, we identified four key personas: Fitness Explorers, The Nomads, Multi-Sport Enthusiasts, and Corporate Executives. Each of them shared a common frustration: rigid systems that didn’t fit their lives. I translated this insight into a flexible identity system built around fluid motion, soft geometry, and a brand thread that flows — literally. The primary logo is inspired by movement and balance, with dynamic dot accents that represent connection and energy. A custom brand palette blends bold momentum blues with energetic pulse greens, paired with a typographic system that balances structure and softness. We designed a motion-first ecosystem, where animated threads guide users through booking sessions across gyms, wellness spaces, and recovery zones — all with intuitive ease.

the identity

Vitalise isn’t just a fitness brand — it’s a redefinition of what modern wellness can look like: fluid, motivating, and on your terms.

My role was to ensure every touchpoint — from logo to motion to UI assets — reflects that belief. Built by Noun — for the ones who move with purpose.

Vita Elixi

Concept — common noun [From the current site's narrative — voice sweep "we"→"I" pending, Meena to read aloud]

Concept entry — a self-initiated exploration of the category. The brief below is imagined; the thinking is real.

Vita Elixi brand identity

the brief

Vita Elixi was created for a U.S.-based client with the mission to provide women (ages 20-45) with a powerful prebiotic elixir that supports emotional well-being, energy, and focus. Before diving into design, I worked on the brand strategy—defining the mission, vision, values, and overall brand positioning. This foundational work ensured that every design element aligned with the brand’s core purpose and resonated with the right audience.

the challenge

The name Vita Elixi was developed to encapsulate vitality and the essence of an elixir that nourishes from within. To shape the brand’s identity, I conducted in-depth research on competitors, consumer behavior, and market gaps in the adaptogenic beverage space. One of the key insights was that many elixir drinks lacked strong shelf appeal and failed to connect emotionally with the target audience.I started with a creative direction board, studying typography, color psychology, and packaging trends in both the wellness and energy drink sectors. The goal was to create a visually compelling brand that stood out in supermarkets while maintaining a sense of trust and functionality. Key insights: Women in the target demographic seek holistic wellness but also gravitate toward bold, confident branding that speaks to their needs. Many adaptogenic drinks looked too clinical or uninspiring—Vita Elixi needed a vibrant, empowering presence on the shelf. Emotional triggers like strength, energy, glow, and focus were integrated into messaging to make the product instantly relatable.

the identity

To stand out in a competitive retail environment, we used vibrant, high-contrast colors that made each SKU pop on supermarket shelves. The color choices were strategic—balancing earthy, herbal tones with energetic, eye-catching hues that reflected the drink’s benefits.

By the end of the branding and packaging process, Vita Elixi became a visually striking, emotionally compelling, and functionally effective brand that spoke directly to modern women seeking balance, strength, and vitality in their daily lives
